PPP steps at least three hundred . this is that the technique for spelling and definitions . it is also a technique for in them during for kneeling . . another Memory Technique is no money . opinions are words formed by using the first letters of the information to be the man pay . Acronyms don't have to be real words but the you have to be pronounceable . for a Campo . here is how you would use an acronym to remember the Great Lakes . the way home . H O T and he . would have each letter stand for one of the lake . a to think here on Oprah Ontario . and finish again . effect Erie and tests to Superior . the word Bar . have each letter be a hard stand for a country to help you to remember the Allies during World War two . be for Britain . a for America far for Russia . However it also meant that the issue of learning style when material is difficult to remember . you still are another normally take . graphs and charts are an issue look nice and patient and show how information can be organized . flow charts can help you to remember the sequence of events in a chemical reaction . timelines can help you to remember the historical events beating up to the Civil War . Both flow charts and timelines are good for remembering sequential information . graphs can help you to remembering details statistical information at a glance that would take a page kit to scrap . it's illustration is to take me can be helpful especially for people to have the ability to create strong visual connection . habit is to get . use . if you don't use it you will lose it . it may be in your short term memory but short term memory is fragile . he won't go from short ten into long term memory . and if you get it into long term memory but don't use it you may have a hard time retrieving . Interference occurs when you it trying to learn material that is similar and related . Try to create differences and then enhance the differences . for example if you are learning a long list of formulas or word definitions it would be of good idea to create and enhance the differences . the by the list into smaller lists . then you can color code each small list . or you can study each small list in a different place and associate the place with the information you and study . Repression occurs if you believe the you I not good remember . if you have this belief it will be more difficult to remember . not really learning in the first place . that is why it is recommended to QB to text book attend class takes notes and review immediately and break it . thank you for listening to this video cast on memory . if you have any questions please come to the Academic Support Center which is located on the ground floor of the Library . just download the referral form in the Academic Support Center page of the Westchester Community College website . get help with memory techniques and fifty skill . today's card here to help you . .
