PubMed contains information from Medline and
other government and academic sources, and is
an excellent resource for research in the health
and psychological areas. This tutorial will assist
you with translating PubMed’s entries into the
    full text of articles.
The initial results list contains the titles, authors,
and publication information of relevant articles.
Some of the articles have free full text, which is
indicated by the Free Article icon. To access
that full text you simply need to click on the
title, then in the resulting page click on the
journal icon in the upper right corner.
If the article does not indicate that it’s a free
article, you can still click on the publisher’s icon
to check for full text. If the library subscribes to
this journal, and if you are on campus, you can
access the full text through our subscription.
If the publisher indicates that there is no
subscription, do not pay for the article! You still
may be able to access the full text through
    some of our other tools.

Journal Finder allows you to search for the full
text in one of our over 80 databases. All you
need is the full citation of the article, which
should be able in PubMed. Journal Finder will
show you which databases contain full text from
    the journal.
Sometimes we will not have full text of a journal,
or we will only have access to full text of a
portion of the articles. In that case, you can fill
out an interlibrary loan request, and we will
borrow the article form another library. It should
    arrive within a few days.
If you have any questions about finding full text
of an article, please ask one of our librarians!
