Are you looking for a specific book and the WCU library doesn’t have it? We can get it for you from another library through our interlibrary loan system, usually in just two to three business days. Plus, it is a free service for WCU students, faculty, and staff. You can get to the interlibrary loan page two ways. There is a link on the right side of the library home page and also under the “Find Books” tab on the left side.Our system for books is called EZ-Borrow (also known as PALCI). You can see the link here. When you click the link you will be asked to log in. The ID it wants is the 16 digit number on the back of your RAM card. If you have checked out a book from the library before, your number should work. If it doesn’t, just stop by or call the library circulation desk to have them activate your number. If you don’t have a RAM card, you can fill out a form here to get a number. Once you are logged in, just type the title of the book you want into the search box. I’m searching for a book called “Animal Ethics in Context”. Once the system has completed its search, the book you are looking for should appear near the top of the page. Sometimes more than one version of a book will appear. They may be different editions, which would have different publication dates, which you can see here. Or one might be an electronic version and another a print version of the book. Currently, you can only request print books, so we will skip the electronic version and click on the title of the print. This page gives you the full information about the book at the top of the page. Below that is where you request the book. Simply choose “Main Circulation Desk” from the pull-down menu, then click “Request”. You should get a confirmation that your request went through. An email will be sent to your university account when the book arrives and you can pick it up at the Green Library circulation desk. You can check out the book for 60 days, but you cannot renew it after that time. If you have any problems using EZ-Borrow, please stop by or contact the library Reference desk for help.
