JOHN:
John

Jesus

in

are
not
recorded
in

But
these
are
written
that
you

that
Jesus
is
the
Christ,
the
Son
of
God,
and
that
by
believing
you
may
have
life
in
his

Raising
of
Lazarus
11
12-20
"I
am
the
good
shepherd.
The
good
shepherd
lays
down
his
life
for
the
sheep.
John
10:11
"How
long
will
you
keep
us
in
suspense?
If
you
are
the
Christ,
tell
us
plainly."
John
10:24
Again
they
tried
to
seize
him,
but
he
escaped
their
grasp.
Then
Jesus
went
back
across
the
Jordan
to
the
place
where
John
had
been
baptizing
in
the
early
days.
Here
he
stayed.
John
10:39,40
and
many
people
came
to
him.
They
said,
“Though
John
never
performed
a
miraculous
sign,
all
that
John
said
about
this
man
was
true.”
And
in
that
place
many
believed
in
Jesus.
John
10:41-42
Bethany
(beyond
the
Jordan)
Jerusalem
Bethany
20
miles
Now
a
man
named
Lazarus
was
sick.
He
was
from
Bethany,
the
village
of
Mary
and
her
sister
Martha.
John
11:1
This
Mary,
whose
brother
Lazarus
now
lay
sick,
was
the
same
one
who
poured
perfume
on
the
Lord
and
wiped
his
feet
with
her
hair.
John
11:2
What
does
the
Bible
say
about
the
death
of
believers?
John
11:8-14
After
he
had
said
this,
he
went
on
to
tell
them,
"Our
friend
Lazarus
has
fallen
asleep;
but
I
am
going
there
to
wake
him
up.“
His
disciples
replied,
"Lord,
if
he
sleeps,
he
will
get
better.”
John
11:8-14
Jesus
had
been
speaking
of
his
death,
but
his
disciples
thought
he
meant
natural
sleep.
So
then
he
told
them
plainly,
"Lazarus
is
dead,
and
for
your
sake
I
am
glad
I
was
not
there,
so
that
you
may
believe.
But
let
us
go
to
him."
1
Thessalonians
4:15-18
According
to
the
Lord's
own
word,
we
tell
you
that
we
who
are
still
alive,
who
are
left
till
the
coming
of
the
Lord,
will
certainly
not
precede
those
who
have
fallen
asleep.
For
the
Lord
himself
will
come
down
from
heaven,
with
a
loud
command,
with
the
voice
of
the
archangel
and
with
the
trumpet
call
of
God,
and
the
dead
in
Christ
will
rise
first.
After
that,
we
who
are
still
alive
and
are
left
will
be
caught
up
together
with
them
in
the
clouds
to
meet
the
Lord
in
the
air.
And
so
we
will
be
with
the
Lord
forever.
Therefore
encourage
each
other
with
these
words.
Then
Thomas
(called
Didymus,
the
twin)
said
to
the
rest
of
the
disciples,
"Let
us
also
go,
that
we
may
die
with
him."

If
we
live,
we
live
to
the
Lord;
and
if
we
die,
we
die
to
the
Lord.
So,
whether
we
live
or
die,
we
belong
to
the
Lord.
(For
this
very
reason,
Christ
died
and
returned
to
life
so
that
he
might
be
the
Lord
of
both
the
dead
and
the
living.
Romans
14:8,9
Jesus
said
to
her,
"Your
brother
will
rise
again."Martha
answered,
"I
know
he
will
rise
again
in
the
resurrection
at
the
last
day."
John
11:23,24
Jesus
said
to
her,
"I
am
the
resurrection
and
the
life.
He
who
believes
in
me
will
live,
even
though
he
dies;
and
whoever
lives
and
believes
in
me
will
never
die.
Do
you
believe
this?"
John
11:25,26
For
God
so
loved
the
world
that
he
gave
his
one
and
only
Son,
that
whoever
believes
in
him
shall
not
perish
but
have
eternal
life.
Jesus
wept
For
we
do
not
have
a
high
priest
who
is
unable
to
sympathize
with
our
weaknesses,
but
we
have
one
who
has
been
tempted
in
every
way,
just
as
we
are--yet
was
without
sin.
Hebrews
4:15
Let
us
then
approach
the
throne
of
grace
with
confidence,
so
that
we
may
receive
mercy
and
find
grace
to
help
us
in
our
time
of
need.
Hebrews
4:16
For
the
Lord
himself
shall
descend
from
heaven
with
a
shout,
with
the
voice
of
the
archangel,
and
with
the
trump
of
God:
and
the
dead
in
Christ
shall
rise
first:

Thessalonians
4:16

1
Corinthians
15:51-54
Listen,
I
tell
you
a
mystery:
We
will
not
all
sleep,
but
we
will
all
be
changed--
in
a
flash,
in
the
twinkling
of
an
eye,
at
the
last
trumpet.
For
the
trumpet
will
sound,
the
dead
will
be
raised
imperishable,
and
we
will
be
changed.
For
the
perishable
must
clothe
itself
with
the
imperishable,
and
the
mortal
with
immortality.
When
the
perishable
has
been
clothed
with
the
imperishable,
and
the
mortal
with
immortality,
then
the
saying
that
is
written
will
come
true:
"Death
has
been
swallowed
up
in
victory."
We
are
confident,
I
say,
and
would
prefer
to
be
away
from
the
body
and
at
home
with
the
Lord.

Lyrics:
William
and
Gloria
Gaither
God
sent
His
son,
they
called
Him
Jesus
He
came
to
love,
heal,
and
forgive.
He
lived
and
died
to
buy
my
pardon,
An
empty
grave
is
there
to
prove
my
Savior
lives.
Because
He
lives,
I
can
face
tomorrow.
Because
He
lives,
All
fear
is
gone.
Because
I
know
He
holds
the
future,
And
life
is
worth
the
living
just
because
He
lives.
How
sweet
to
hold
a
newborn
baby,
And
feel
the
pride
and
joy
he
gives.
But
greater
still
the
calm
assurance,
This
child
can
face
uncertain
days
because
He
lives.
And
then
one
day
I'll
cross
the
river,
I'll
fight
life's
final
war
with
pain.
And
then
as
death
gives
way
to
victory,
I'll
see
the
lights
of
glory
and
I'll
know
He
lives.
Because
He
lives,
I
can
face
tomorrow.
Because
He
lives,
All
fear
is
gone!
Because
I
know
He
holds
the
future
And
life
is
worth
the
living
just
because
He
lives!
Then
the
chief
priests
and
the
Pharisees
called
a
meeting
of
the
Sanhedrin.
"What
are
we
accomplishing?"
they
asked.
"Here
is
this
man
performing
many
miraculous
signs.
John
11:47
If
we
let
him
go
on
like
this,
everyone
will
believe
in
him,
and
then
the
Romans
will
come
and
take
away
both
our
place
and
our
nation."
John
11:48
"You
know
nothing
at
all!
You
do
not
realize
that
it
is
better
for
you
that
one
man
die
for
the
people
than
that
the
whole
nation
perish."
John
11:49b,50
it
is
better
for
you
that
one
man
die
for
the
people
than
that
the
whole
nation
perish.
But
Balaam
answered
them,
"Even
if
Balak
gave
me
his
palace
filled
with
silver
and
gold,
I
could
not
do
anything
great
or
small
to
go
beyond
the
command
of
the
LORD
my
God.
Numbers
22:18
So
from
that
day
on
they
plotted
to
take
his
life.
Therefore
Jesus
no
longer
moved
about
publicly
among
the
Jews.
Instead
he
withdrew
to
a
region
near
the
desert,
to
a
village
called
Ephraim,
where
he
stayed
with
his
disciples.

Ephraim/Ephron
John
12:1,2
Six
days
before
the
Passover,
Jesus
arrived
at
Bethany,
where
Lazarus
lived,
whom
Jesus
had
raised
from
the
dead.
Here
a
dinner
was
given
in
Jesus'
honor.
Martha
served,
while
Lazarus
was
among
those
reclining
at
the
table
with
him.
Nard
Anointing
Oil
John
12:3-5
Then
Mary
took
about
a
pint
of
pure
nard,
an
expensive
perfume;
she
poured
it
on
Jesus'
feet
and
wiped
his
feet
with
her
hair.
And
the
house
was
filled
with
the
fragrance
of
the
perfume.
But
one
of
his
disciples,
Judas
Iscariot,
who
was
later
to
betray
him,
objected,
"Why
wasn't
this
perfume
sold
and
the
money
given
to
the
poor?
It
was
worth
a
year's
wages.”
John
12:6-8
He
did
not
say
this
because
he
cared
about
the
poor
but
because
he
was
a
thief;
as
keeper
of
the
money
bag,
he
used
to
help
himself
to
what
was
put
into
it.
"Leave
her
alone,"
Jesus
replied.
"It
was
intended
that
she
should
save
this
perfume
for
the
day
of
my
burial.
You
will
always
have
the
poor
among
you,
but
you
will
not
always
have
me."
Meanwhile
a
large
crowd
of
Jews
found
out
that
Jesus
was
there
and
came,
not
only
because
of
him
but
also
to
see
Lazarus,
whom
he
had
raised
from
the
dead.
So
the
chief
priests
made
plans
to
kill
Lazarus
as
well,
for
on
account
of
him
many
of
the
Jews
were
going
over
to
Jesus
and
putting
their
faith
in
him.
John
12:9-11
John
12:12,13
The
next
day
the
great
crowd
that
had
come
for
the
Feast
heard
that
Jesus
was
on
his
way
to
Jerusalem.
They
took
palm
branches
and
went
out
to
meet
him,
shouting,
"Hosanna!
"
"Blessed
is
he
who
comes
in
the
name
of
the
Lord!"
"Blessed
is
the
King
of
Israel!"
John
12:14-16
Jesus
found
a
young
donkey
and
sat
upon
it,
as
it
is
written,
"Do
not
be
afraid,
O
Daughter
of
Zion;
see,
your
king
is
coming,
seated
on
a
donkey's
colt."
At
first
his
disciples
did
not
understand
all
this.
Only
after
Jesus
was
glorified
did
they
realize
that
these
things
had
been
written
about
him
and
that
they
had
done
these
things
to
him.
Rejoice
greatly,
O
Daughter
of
Zion!
Shout,
Daughter
of
Jerusalem!
See,
your
king
comes
to
you,
righteous
and
having
salvation,
gentle
and
riding
on
a
donkey,
on
a
colt,
the
foal
of
a
donkey.

John

Now
the
crowd
that
was
with
him
when
he
called

from
the
tomb
and
raised

from
the
dead
continued
to
spread
the

Many

because
they
had
heard
that
he
had
given
this

went
out
to
