PURPOSE
of
JOHN:
John
20:31-32
Jesus
did
many
other
miraculous
signs
in
the
presence
of
his
disciples,
which
are
not
recorded
in
this
book.
But
these
are
written
that
you
may
believe
that
Jesus
is
the
Christ,
the
Son
of
God,
and
that
by
believing
you
may
have
life
in
his
name.

John
2:13
When
it
was
almost
time
for
the
Jewish
Passover,
Jesus
went
up
to
Jerusalem.
Just
as
Moses
lifted
up
the
snake
in
the
desert,
so
the
Son
of
Man
must
be
lifted
up,
that
everyone
who
believes
in
him
may
have
eternal
life.
For
God
so
loved
the
world
that
he
gave
his
one
and
only
Son,
that
whoever
believes
in
him
shall
not
perish
but
have
eternal
life.
This
is
the
verdict:
Light
has
come
into
the
world,
but
men
loved
darkness
instead
of
light
because
their
deeds
were
evil.
Galilee
John
3:22-23
After
this,
Jesus
and
his
disciples
went
out
into
the
Judean
countryside,
where
he
spent
some
time
with
them,
and
baptized.
Now
John
also
was
baptizing
at
Aenon
near
Salim,
because
there
was
plenty
of
water,
and
people
were
constantly
coming
to
be
baptized.

John
3:25
An
argument
developed
between
some
of
John's
disciples
and
a
certain
Jew
over
the
matter
of
ceremonial
washing.
John
3:26
They
came
to
John
and
said
to
him,
“Rabbi,
that
man
who
was
with
you
on
the
other
side
of
the
Jordan--the
one
you
testified
about--well,
he
is
baptizing,
and
everyone
is
going
to
him.”
A
man
can
receive
only
what
is
given
him
from
heaven.
You
yourselves
can
testify
that
I
said,
‘I
am
not
the
Christ
but
am
sent
ahead
of
him.’
The
bride
belongs
to
the
bridegroom.
The
friend
who
attends
the
bridegroom
waits
and
listens
for
him,
and
is
full
of
joy
when
he
hears
the
bridegroom's
voice.
That
joy
is
mine,
and
it
is
now
complete.
He
must
become
greater;
I
must
become
less.
The
one
who
comes
from
above
is
above
all;
the
one
who
is
from
the
earth
belongs
to
the
earth,
and
speaks
as
one
from
the
earth.
The
one
who
comes
from
heaven
is
above
all.
He
testifies
to
what
he
has
seen
and
heard,
but
no
one
accepts
his
testimony.
The
man
who
has
accepted
it
has
certified
that
God
is
truthful.
For
the
one
whom
God
has
sent
speaks
the
words
of
God,
for
God
gives
the
Spirit
without
limit.
The
Father
loves
the
Son
and
has
placed
everything
in
his
hands.
Whoever
believes
in
the
Son
has
eternal
life,
but
whoever
rejects
the
Son
will
not
see
life,
for
God's
wrath
remains
on
him.
Jesus
Like
Moses
lifted
up
the
bronze
serpent
so…
For
God
so
loved
the
World…
Light
has
come
into
the
World…

Whoever
believes

the
Son…

4:6
Jacob's
well
was
there,
and
Jesus,
tired
as
he
was
from
the
journey,
sat
down
by
the
well.
It
was
about
the
sixth
hour.
(His
disciples
had
gone
into
the
town
to
buy
food.)
Will
you
give
me
a
drink?
You
are
a
Jew
and
I
am
a
Samaritan
woman.
How
can
you
ask
me
for
a
drink?
How
can
you
get
water
with
no
pot?
The
water
I
give
is
not
H2O
Give
me
some
so
I
won’t
thirst!
(and
I
won’t
have
to
come
here!)
(Hmmm…
why?)
Bring
your
husband!
Uh…
no
husband
Ain’t
that
the
truth!
Heh,
you’re
a
prophet
aren’t
you!
If
you
knew
the
gift
of
God
and
who
it
is
that
asks
you
for
a
drink,
you
would
have
asked
him
and
he
would
have
given
you
living
water.
Heh,
I’ve
always
wondered…
why
do
Jews
and
Samaritans
worship
on
different
mountains?
Your
missing
the
point!
God
must
be
worshiped
for
who
He
really
is!
He’s
NOT
stuck
on
some
mountain!
He’s
SPIRIT!
I
know
that
Messiah
is
coming.
When
he
comes,
he
will
explain
everything
to
us.
I
who
speak
to
you
am
he!
John
4:27
Just
then
his
disciples
returned
and
were
surprised
to
find
him
talking
with
a
woman.
But
no
one
asked,
"What
do
you
want?"
or
"Why
are
you
talking
with
her?"
John
4:28-30
Then,
leaving
her
water
jar,
the
woman
went
back
to
the
town
and
said
to
the
people,
"Come,
see
a
man
who
told
me
everything
I
ever
did.
Could
this
be
the
Christ?"
They
came
out
of
the
town
and
made
their
way
toward
him.
John
4:31-33
Meanwhile
his
disciples
urged
him,
"Rabbi,
eat
something."
But
he
said
to
them,
"I
have
food
to
eat
that
you
know
nothing
about."
Then
his
disciples
said
to
each
other,
"Could
someone
have
brought
him
food?"
