(17:6-19)
A

can

to

"I
have
revealed
you
to
those
whom
you
gave
me
out
of
the
world.
They
were
yours;
you
gave
them
to
me
and
they
have
obeyed
your
word.
Now
they
know
that
everything
you
have
given
me
comes
from
you.
John
17:6,7
God’s
best
gift
He
could
give
His
son,
was
you
and
me!
I
have
given
them
the
glory
that
you
gave
me,
that
they
may
be
one
as
we
are
one:
I
in
them
and
you
in
me.
May
they
be
brought
to
complete
unity
to
let
the
world
know
that
you
sent
me
and
have
loved
them
even
as
you
have
loved
me.
John
17:22,23
Unity
≠
Sameness
I
have
made
you
known
to
them,
and
will
continue
to
make
you
known
in
order
that
the
love
you
have
for
me
may
be
in
them
and
that
I
myself
may
be
in
them.“
John

How

He

John

When

Jesus
left

and
crossed

On

Jesus
John
18:4,5a
Jesus,
knowing
all
that
was
going
to
happen
to
him,
went
out
and
asked
them,"Who
is
it
you
want?“
"Jesus
of
Nazareth,"
they
replied.
"I
am
he,"
Jesus
said.
John
18:11
Jesus
commanded
Peter,
"Put
your
sword
away!
Shall
I
not
drink
the
cup
the
Father
has
given
me?"
John
18:8
"I
told
you
that
I
am
he,"
Jesus
answered.
"If
you
are
looking
for
me,
then
let
these
men
go."
John
18:20,21
"I
have
spoken
openly
to
the
world,"
Jesus
replied.
"I
always
taught
in
synagogues
or
at
the
temple,
where
all
the
Jews
come
together.
I
said
nothing
in
secret.
Why
question
me?
Ask
those
who
heard
me.
Surely
they
know
what
I
said."
John
18:36,37
Jesus
said,
"My
kingdom
is
not
of
this
world.
If
it
were,
my
servants
would
fight
to
prevent
my
arrest
by
the
Jews.
But
now
my
kingdom
is
from
another
place."
"You
are
a
king,
then!"
said
Pilate.
Jesus
answered,
"You
are
right
in
saying
I
am
a
king.
In
fact,
for
this
reason
I
was
born,
and
for
this
I
came
into
the
world,
to
testify
to
the
truth.
Everyone
on
the
side
of
truth
listens
to
me."
2
Timothy
4:1-8
In
the
presence
of
God
and
of
Christ
Jesus,
who
will
judge
the
living
and
the
dead,
and
in
view
of
his
appearing
and
his
kingdom,
I
give
you
this
charge:
Preach
the
Word;
be
prepared
in
season
and
out
of
season;
correct,
rebuke
and
encourage--with
great
patience
and
careful
instruction.
2
Timothy
4:1-8
For
the
time
will
come
when
men
will
not
put
up
with
sound
doctrine.
Instead,
to
suit
their
own
desires,
they
will
gather
around
them
a
great
number
of
teachers
to
say
what
their
itching
ears
want
to
hear.
They
will
turn
their
ears
away
from
the
truth
and
turn
aside
to
myths.
But
you,
keep
your
head
in
all
situations,
endure
hardship,
do
the
work
of
an
evangelist,
discharge
all
the
duties
of
your
ministry.
For
I
am
already
being
poured
out
like
a
drink
offering,
and
the
time
has
come
for
my
departure.
I
have
fought
the
good
fight,
I
have
finished
the
race,
I
have
kept
the
faith.
Now
there
is
in
store
for
me
the
crown
of
righteousness,
which
the
Lord,
the
righteous
Judge,
will
award
to
me
on
that
day--and
not
only
to
me,
but
also
to
all
who
have
longed
for
his
appearing.

John
18:10
Then
Simon
Peter,
who
had
a
sword,
drew
it
and
struck
the
high
priest's
servant,
cutting
off
his
right
ear.

servant's
name
was
Malchus.)

John
18:17
"You
are
not
one

his
disciples,
are
you?"
the
girl
at
the
door
asked
Peter.
He
replied,
"I
am
not."

John
18:25
As
Simon
Peter
stood
warming
himself,
he
was
asked,
"You
are
not
one
of
his
disciples,
are
you?"
He
denied
it,
saying,
"I
am
not.”
His
Attitude:
Concern

Truth
doesn’t
matter
John
18:26,27
One
of
the
high
priest's
servants,
a
relative
of
the
man
whose
ear
Peter
had
cut
off,
challenged
him,
"Didn't
I
see
you
with
him
in
the
olive
grove?"
Again
Peter
denied
it,
and
at
that
moment
a
rooster
began
to
crow.
His
Attitude:
Concern
for
himself
Truth
doesn’t
matter

we

on

we
are

Is
the
Rooster

for
you?
"Simon

John,
do
you

me
more
than
these?"
John
21:15a
Is
Jesus
calling
you
back
to
be
restored?
Judas
John
13:27
As
soon
as
Judas
took
the
bread,
Satan
entered
into
him.
"What
you
are
about
to
do,
do
quickly,"
Jesus
told
him,
Remorse
≠
Repentence
Annas
Isaiah
6:9,10
He
said,
"Go
and
tell
this
people:
"'Be
ever
hearing,
but
never
understanding;
be
ever
seeing,
but
never
perceiving.'
Make
the
heart
of
this
people
calloused;
make
their
ears
dull
and
close
their
eyes.
Otherwise
they
might
see
with
their
eyes,
hear
with
their
ears,
understand
with
their
hearts,
and
turn
and
be
healed."
John
18:33,34
Pilate
then
went
back
inside
the
palace,
summoned
Jesus
and
asked
him,
"Are
you
the
king
of
the
Jews?"
"Is
that
your
own
idea,"
Jesus
asked,
"or
did
others
talk
to
you
about
me?"
John
18:38
"What
is
truth?"
Pilate
asked.
With
this
he
went
out
again
to
the
Jews
and
said,
"I
find
no
basis
for
a
charge
against
him.
Pilate
was
recalled
to
Rome
in
the
year
37
to
defend
himself
against
accusations
he
had
ordered
the
slaughter
of
a
large
number
of
innocent
Samaritans,
gathered
for
a
religious
purpose.
By
the
time
Pilate
reached
Rome,
the
emperor
Tiberius
had
died.
No
record
of
Pilate's
fate
remains.
Do
you
know
some
“Pilates”
who
need
to
decide
about
Jesus?
Will
you
boldly
tell
them
the
TRUTH
or
leave
them
to
a
world
full
of
lies?
