PURPOSE
of
JOHN:
John
20:31-32
Jesus
did
many
other
miraculous
signs
in
the
presence
of
his
disciples,
which
are
not
recorded
in
this
book.
But
these
are
written
that
you
may
believe
that
Jesus
is
the
Christ,
the
Son
of
God,
and
that
by
believing
you
may
have
life
in
his
name.

(20:30-31)
Sunday
Philip
went
to
tell
Andrew;
Andrew
and
Philip
in
turn
told
Jesus.
Jesus
replied,
"The
hour
has
come
for
the
Son
of
Man
to
be
glorified.”

Feast.
Jesus
knew
that
the
time
had
come
for
him
to
leave
this

and
go
to
the
Father.
Having
loved
his
own
who
were

he
now
showed
them
the
full
extent
of
his
love.

Lazarus
11
12-20
What
did
Jesus
know
at
the
Last
Supper?
His
time
had
come
to
go
to
the
Cross
All
power
has
been
given
to
Him
He
was
going
to
return
to
Father
Judas
was
to
betray
Him
within
minutes
His
disciples
were
arguing
about
“greatness”
His
disciples
were
going
to
soon
be
in
crisis
John
13:4
so
he
got
up
from
the
meal,
took
off
his
outer
clothing,
and
wrapped
a
towel
around
his
waist.
John
13:5
After
that,
he
poured
water
into
a
basin
and
began
to
wash
his
disciples'
feet,
drying
them
with
the
towel
that
was
wrapped
around
him.
Peter’s
Response
Me
too?
Never!
Wash
all
of
me!
Jesus’
Response
I
You
don’t
understand…
yet!
Without
a
bath,
you
have
no
part
in
me
If
you’ve
had
a
bath,
you
only
need
your
feet
washed
Jesus’
Response
II
Now
you
understand
what
greatness
in
the
Kingdom
of
God
is
all
about
Now,
do
the
same
You
will
be
blessed
if
you
do
I
will
be
betrayed,
so
you’ll
know
it
was
not
an
accident,
but
a
fulfillment
You
have
my
authority!
John
13:27
As
soon
as
Judas
took
the
bread,
Satan
entered
into
him.
"What
you
are
about
to
do,
do
quickly,"
Jesus
told
him,
John
13:30
As
soon
as
Judas
had
taken
the
bread,
he
went
out.
And
it
was
night.

When
he
was
gone,
Jesus
said,
"Now
is
the
Son
of
Man
glorified
and
God
is
glorified
in
him.
If
God
is
glorified
in
him,
God
will
glorify
the
Son
in
himself,
and
will
glorify
him
at
once.
"My
children,
I
will
be
with
you
only
a
little
longer.
You
will
look
for
me,
and
just
as
I
told
the
Jews,
so
I
tell
you
now:
Where
I
am
going,
you
cannot
come.
John
13:31-33
Now
is
the
son
of
man
glorified
I
will
be
with
you
only
a
little
longer
Where
I
am
going
you
cannot
come
John
13:34
"A
new
command
I
give
you:
Love
one
another.
As
I
have
loved
you,
so
you
must
love
one
another.
John
13:35
By
this
all
men
will
know
that
you
are
my
disciples,
if
you
love
one
another."
LOVING
ONE
ANOTHER
IS
JOB
ONE!
Would
anyone
look
at
your
life
and
recognize
you
a
follower
of
Jesus
because
of
your
love
for
other
Christians?

John
13:35
By
this
all
men
will
know
that
you

my

if
you

another."
Lord,
where
are
you
going?
Jesus
replied,
"Where

but
you
will

later."
John
13:36
The
LOOK…
of
love…
Lord,
where
are
you
going?
Lord,
why
can't
I
follow
you
now?
I
will
lay
down
my
life
for
you!
Then
Jesus
answered,
"Will
you
really
lay
down
your
life

me?
I
tell
you
the

I

Jesus?

NO…
Lord,
why
haven’t
you
shared
your

with
me?
Lord,
why
can’t
we

Lord,

God
