James 3:1 Why is the bar set so high for teachers? Matthew 18:6 But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. Teachers are entrusted with Christ’s “little Ones” They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them--bringing swift destruction on themselves. But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. 2 Peter 2:1 "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to. Matthew 23:13 Reckless words pierce like a sword, Proverbs 12:18a How would anyone dare to be a teacher? but the tongue of the wise brings healing. Proverbs 12:18b Pray for the Teachers in your life! Controlling your Tongue as a Believer James 3:2 We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check. Professor Henry Higgins “My Fair Lady” James 3:5a Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Turns and controls Steers Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. James 3:5b ? ? ! The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, James 3:6 sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. Proverbs 18:21 The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. "That depends on what the meaning of 'is' is." "Read my lips: no new taxes." "I am not a crook." All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man, James 3:7 James 3:7 All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man, but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. James 3:8 With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, James 3:9,10 Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. James 1:8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does. James 3:11 Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? James 3:12 My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water. http://www.searchingthescriptures.net/main_pages/image_clip-art_pages/Jesus%20Teaching%20Discip les.gif Are you so dull?
