For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. He is able to deal gently with those who are ignorant and are going astray, since he himself is subject to weakness. But God said to him, “You are my Son; today I have become your Father.” Psalm 2:7 Jesus high priest.png Hebrews 5:6-8 And he says in another place, “You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.” During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. Tableau_Gethsemane.gif Hebrews 5:9,10 And he says in another place, Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him and was designated by God to be high priest in the order of Melchizedek Melchizewho? at calvary.bmp Now Lot, who was moving about with Abram, also had flocks and herds and tents. Shinar Elam Ellasar Goiim? Sodom & Gomorrah Genesis 14:1,2 They also carried off Abram's nephew Lot and his possessions, since he was living in Sodom. One who had escaped came and reported this to Abram the Hebrew. Now Abram was living near the great trees of Mamre the Amorite, a brother of Eshcol and Aner, all of whom were allied with Abram. Genesis 14:12,13 When Abram heard that his relative had been taken captive, he called out the 318 trained men born in his household and went in pursuit as far as Dan. During the night Abram divided his men to attack them and he routed them, pursuing them as far as Hobah, north of Damascus. Genesis 14:14,15 He recovered all the goods and brought back his relative Lot and his possessions, together with the women and the other people. After Abram returned from defeating Kedorlaomer and the kings allied with him, the king of Sodom came out to meet him in the Valley of Shaveh (that is, the King's Valley).
