Your course Home Page provides students with a quick look at what's going on in their course the same way the NU Online Campus tab provides a quick look at what's going on in the institution. By having students start all their courses on the Home Page, students get a consistent approach to their courses across the College of Professional Studies. The current view of the Home Page displays three modules. You have a Course Announcements module, and as you can see, there are links to announcements that will appear according to their availability settings. Students can click on link to the announcement, and here you see the test announcement is displayed. We also have the 'To Do' module. The 'To Do' module is designed for students to see the due dates for assignments and assessments, discussion posts, etc. You must include a due date when creating an assignment in order for students to see the assignment notification. You as the instructor will not see the due dates. The third module is 'My Tasks'. The Tasks module is designed to allow instructors to create course tasks These course tasks are viewable to all course users. Students can create personal tasks. You can add a module, if you would like, to the Home Page. Click the button, 'Add Course Module' and you will see a list of modules that can be added. In order to add them, click the 'Add' button below. Here we will add a Calculator, and we will add a Calendar. There are some modules that it wouldn't make sense to add, things like 'System Alert' or 'Faculty Support', because these things can be accessed from the 'Support and Services' tab. So, when you have added the modules that you would like, click 'OK' and here we can see that there is a Calendar and a Calculator on the Home Page. Another thing that you can do on your Home Page is to customize the color palette. What you see now is default color palette for the Northeastern Online courses but, here on the right, click 'Customize Page' and you'll be presented with a menu of other possibilities for color palettes in the 'Color Palette Library'. This one that is highlighted now is the default NU Online palette. Let's change the the palette to... how about 'Sandstorm'? After clicking the new selection, click 'Submit.' and you can see the colors have changed and the page has been successfully edited. and you have a new color palette for your course modules.
