Hello, and welcome to your tutorial on how to
use the Advanced Search option in
MustangJOBS.
In this tutorial, we will also cover creating
printable job lists,
and how to schedule your job search to run
automatically and email you the results.
After entering MustangJOBS, click on the “Jobs,
Internships and OCR Interviews” link at the top of
your homepage.
On the next page, click on the “Advanced
Search” tab.
Keep in mind that the more search criteria you
include, the fewer results you will receive.
It's a good idea to start with a broad search, and
then refine it as needed.
The “Show Me” option allows you to narrow your
search to include just on-campus interviews, just
job listings,
just career fair postings, or just interviews which
match your major and grad date.
For this demo we will use the “All Job Listings”
option to search for just job postings.
Next choose the type of job that you're seeking
from the “Position Type” list.
Under “Job Function” choose the option that
best matches your interests.
After entering your search criteria, scroll to the
bottom of the screen and click on the “Submit”
button.
After your results are displayed, you will see
that they are organized chronologically,
with the most recently posted opportunities at
the top of the list.
Application deadlines are also displayed, to the
right.
To view the details of a position, click on the job
title.
After opening a job posting, you will see the
“How To Apply” instructions displayed in the
upper-right hand corner of the screen.
These instructions vary. For this position, the
employer is requesting candidates to apply
directly on their company website.
If you click the link, it will take you to the
appropriate page.
As you can see, the link has taken us directly to
the company website, where you can search
and apply for career opportunities.
To return to your results list, click on “Search
Results” near the top of your screen.
You are able to print out the details of the
positions that interest you by using the “View
Printable Job List” option.
To start, select the jobs that you would like to
print.
The number of jobs you've selected will be
displayed in red at the top of your list.
Next, click on the “View Printable Job List”
button.
This will create a summary of the detailed
descriptions of each job you've selected.
Click on the “OK” button when prompted.
Once your printable job list is displayed, go to
“File,” in your web browser then choose “Print” in
order to print the page.
Once you are finished printing your selected job
postings, and have returned to your search
results,
be sure to use the small “minus” sign at the top
of your list to de-select the job postings.
Next we’ll look at how to schedule your
advanced search to run automatically, and email
you the results.
To do this, first re-visit the “Advanced Search”
tab.
Once you have entered the search criteria you
would like to save, go to “Search Agents”
towards the top of the page, and click on the
box next to “Save As.”
Next, name your search. Once you've entered a name, scroll to the
bottom of the screen, and click on the “Submit”
button.
After you have saved your search, it will be
available under the “Search Agents” tab, found
just to the right of the “Advanced Search” tab.
This is where you can edit, run, or schedule your
search to be run automatically.
You may also delete your saved search from this
screen.
To schedule an automatic search, click on the
“Schedule” button under “Options.”
Where it says “Enabled” click on the button next
to “Yes.”
Then select how often you wish to run the
search.
When finished, click on the “Submit” button. Your search will now automatically be run by
MustangJOBS, and any new results will be sent
directly to your email address.
