Josh Anderson & Chad Sperry - When a disaster strikes, it is imperative to have situation awareness, a flow of reliable information, and an ability to give specific orders to your first responders and volunteers in the field. By using smart phones, the Incident Command Center (ICC) can track first responders’ movements, assign them to tasks, and create search/buffer zones without leaving the ICC or without the responder leaving the field. Moreover, drones serve as an early warning device, scout, and allow the Incident Commander to have a bird’s eye view of the situation.
