Once you have logged into Banner and are ready
to create your schedule, in the Main Menu, click
on the Student and Financial Aid Link. In the Student and Financial Aid Screen, click on
the Registration link. In the Registration screen, click on the Add or
Drop Classes link. Select the desired Registration Term and click on
Submit. In the Add or Drop Classes Screen, scroll down
to the Add Classes Worksheet. There are two ways to register for classes. One way is to enter the course CRNs, (Course
Reference Numbers). Entering CRNs into the Add Classes worksheet is
the fastest way to register. For example, if you want to register for an
Economics 110 Personal Finance course, and
you know the CRN number, you would enter it in the CRN Box, in this case
44736. Then, click Submit Changes. Scroll down in the Add or Drop classes screen. Look under Current Schedule. If the registration request has been successful,
you should see registered on the web and the
newly added course. If you don’t know the course CRNs, the second
way to register is to search for classes. To search for classes, in the Add or Drop
Classes Screen scroll down to the bottom of the
screen and click on Class Search. Enter your search options, for example; in the
subject field, select African American Studies. If you need more information about the Class
Search function, please refer to the How to
Search for Classes video. To conduct the class search, scroll down to the
bottom of the Look Up Classes screen and click
on class search. Click the checkbox beside the class you want to
register for. Suppose you want to register for African Art and
Culture, click the check box next to AFR 100, to
select that class. Scroll down to the bottom of the Look Up classes
screen and click on Register. In the Add or Drop Classes Screen Scroll down,
and look under Current Schedule. If the registration request has been successful,
you should see, Registered on Web and the
newly added course. To search and register for your next class, click
on Class Search at the bottom of the Add or Drop
Classes screen Repeat these steps for each class you register
for. Also, write down the course title, and the days,
and times, for each class. This will help you avoid
selecting classes that conflict. It is important that you meet all pre-requisites, co-
requisites, and/or restrictions for the courses you
register for. If you don’t meet the requirements, you will see a
Registration Add Errors message and the class
will not be added to your schedule. For example, suppose, you decide to register for
an Early American Literature course. In the Look Up Classes Screen, enter your
search options, in this case English 203. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click
on Class Search. A "C" means the class is closed. A check box means that you can register for the
class. Click the check box next to the English 203, class
that you want to register for. Scroll to the bottom of the Look Up Classes
screen and click on Register. In the Add or Drop Classes Screen Scroll down,
and look under Current Schedule. If you see a Registration Add Errors message, it
means you cannot register for this course. Look in the Status Column to see what the error
is. In this case, there is a prerequisite error. If you selected a course you cannot register for,
click on class search again to search for a
different class. In the Add or Drop classes screen, you can drop
classes from your schedule as well as add them. If you added a class to your schedule and then
decide to drop it, scroll down to the Current
Schedule section. Locate the class you want to drop from your
schedule and click the down arrow in the Action
column. For example, to drop Economics 110 from your
schedule, click the down arrow and select Drop
and Delete on the Web. Click on Submit Changes. The class will be
removed from your schedule.
