Self Empowerment SEPT 28 FINAL.wmv
64.41MB
Ageism is alive and well, with old-age stereotypes lurking in public and private institutions. From the water cooler to the webpage, negative age bias is frustratingly prevalent. Paul Irving, Chairman of the Milken Institute Center for the Future of Aging, will focus on self-empowerment as a response to current realities of aging. We will discuss a range of self-empowerment strategies through learning, updating and improving skills, taking risks, building relationship networks and confidence and developing the resilience to overcome the inevitable challenges to come. Rather than wait for solutions from another source, many individuals can step up and adapt, even as they acknowledge and embrace their age.
