This drill is designed to teach the athlete a) how to kick properly by initiating the kick from the hips and b) what it feels like to maintain a long, narrow, and tight body position, which I refer to as 'tautness' in this video. This swim drill is performed with or without fins, although I perform it with fins in this video demonstration.
