Great video, nice and clear/thorough but I have a comment/clarification... you said that "the only way" to get the specialty equipment to show up was to raise the cut plane.... Slightly misleading & not so... As you know one can use a plan region, to get specific objects to show up distinctly from the overall view range....

True. But only "slighly" misleading as you say. You can use a plan region. But to make it display, you would have to raise the cut plane in the plan region properties, soooo.... :-)
There is another approach actually. You can edit the Specialty equipment Family and add an invisible line passing through the cut plane. This will trigger display. Then you draw symbolic lines to represent what you want to see in plan. So for an item above the cut plane, you can draw dashed symbolic lines that appear in plan. I cover this technique step by step my Mastering the Family Editor Series DVDs. This topic is covered in Session 3. You can learn more about the DVDs at www.paulaubin.com/lrt
Thanks again for the comments.

Great video, I often wonder why Revit's view range settings aren't more graphical? Grippable lines (like you drew)

hopefully in 2013, we'll get a graphical (ie vertical section) preview in the View Range dialog box, something like the Wall Type Editor, with draggable sliders rather than the hit-and-miss numerical approach, with a live preview option for your current view window. it would make using it so much more intuitive and quick.
