Ms. Wilson is a nationally recognized diversity and inclusion, cultural and linguistic competence, and health equity subject matter expert.  A highly regarded public speaker and trainer she recently served as Director, Corporate Office of Diversity and Inclusion at RWJ Barnabas Health. In 2010, Ms. Wilson was appointed Faculty Research Assoc in the Dept. of Health Policy & Management in the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Hopkins Ctr for Health Disparities Solutions, promoted to Asst. Scientist in 2014. Previously, Acting Asst. Director of the Quality Improvement Dept. at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. A Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality, Past President of the Maryland Assoc. for Healthcare Quality, and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. She's particularly interested in health and healthcare disparities and health equity as they relate to racial/ethnic, language, and gender and sexual minorities and the provision of culturally competent patient-centered care. 

Following this session, participants will be able to: 
  
· Identify implicit bias in various settings; 
· Recognize microaggressions, microassaults, microsinsults, and microinvalidations; 
· Discuss implicit bias as a contributing factor to health and healthcare disparities; and 
· Mitigate implicit bias with debiasing techniques.
