Title: Whole Transcriptome Analysis Using Next Generation Sequencing Technologies
Description: Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies have revolutionized molecular biology. Within the last years, acquisition of genetic information by NGS has reached an unprecedented scale of throughput and accuracy. In the specific field of gene expression assessment, studies widely report that transcriptome sequencing RNA-seq experiments outperform microarray-based gene expression assays in terms of dynamic range and resolution. Moreover, RNA-seq experiment has become an essential tool for transcriptome exploration, allowing scientists to identify new genes, transcripts, splicing isoforms and gene fusions. In this webcast we will present a project that involved whole transcriptome analysis using SOLiD RNA-seq technology followed by bioinformatics analysis using TIBCO Spotfire with SeqSolve software from Integromics.
