The Library as Incubator Project discusses how writers, visual artists and performing artists use libraries to research, create and promote their artistic work.Presenters Laura Damon-Moore, Erinn Batykefer, and Christina Endres have created a web resource that highlights artists and projects that have been “incubated,” in part, by library collections, spaces and/or staff. The web site also serves as a resource for librarians who want to better serve artists through programming, collections and partnerships.Participants will:Reimagine the relationship between public libraries and local artists.Explore models of library/artist collaborations.Explore resources that facilitate launching arts-incubator programs.
