God as the Eternal Creator 2 - We want to start off in Hebrews 11:1. Familiar passage of scripture, this writer says, “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the people of old received their commendation. By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible”. In lesson number 1 of this quarter we talked about how knowing God is what matters most, knowing God is the greatest need that mankind possibly has. In lesson number 2 we moved to talk about the names of God, beginning to talk a little bit about the identity of God. And we marveled at how just by looking at the three most familiar terms in the Bible gives us great insight into the nature of God, which is our overall focus for this quarter. This past week we introduced idea of God as the eternal creator. We talked about how behind all of the designs that we see throughout the world around us there is a designer with a mind and with a will. And we spent a little bit of time talking about the implications of that. We go a little bit further in this week talking about God as the eternal Creator. One of the last verses we looked at last Sunday morning was Hebrews 11:3, “By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible”.
